Dame Sarah Mallally has been appointed as the Archbishop of Canterbury designate: the first woman to take the role.  As the "first among equals", she will be the spiritual leader of the Anglican Communion and a senior voice amongst the worldwide episcopacy.  Although she does not have direct authority over the Canadian Church, the soon to be Most. Rev. Sarah Mallally will be one of the bonds of affection that tie Anglicans together in faith.  Her experience as a nurse and a pastor bring needed healing skills to the tasks before the Church.
