Henri Nouwen once complained about being unable to undertake his ministry because of so many interruptions. A wise colleague suggested that Henri consider whether his 'interruptions' were in fact his ministry.
Moses was interrupted in tending the flocks of his father-in-law by the vision of the burning bush. He chose to attend to the interruption and thus embarked on his mission to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt into their future.
Interruptions to our expected routine may be messages from God, invitations to consider new directions for our lives and ministries. They merit attention not dismissal.
