The Property Development Committee has continued to work through the city’s approval process over the past year with our developer partners, Conwest. We’re making slow but steady progress.
The purchase and sale agreement is nearly finalized and the Diocesan Council last fall passed a resolution that the Parish is authorized and permitted to enter into this agreement, supplemental agreements and the Cathedral restoration construction agreement once we receive consent from the diocesan Bishop (or commissary).
Conwest continues to work on addressing outstanding items in the City of New Westminster’s requirements including airspace parcels, property ownership, housing agreement principals, Cathedral seismic upgrade plans and structural assessment, underpinning agreements with neighbouring buildings, and engineering and technical plans. The next step in the process is to be put forward for the agenda of the Land Use Planning Committee and from there the First and Second Reading of the Bylaw at City Council. Our vicar, the Ven. Richard Leggett, and Carla Jones, warden and chair of the Property Development Committee, are happy to discuss any questions about this important project.
